Very nice, Trevor. My wife and I saw and photographed them in SW Manitoba this spring, where they are becoming increasingly common. They seem like such a tropical bird to be found on the prairies.

Thanks everyone :)

They certainly do seem out of place in Alberta, cdmoose.

I have read that the glossy ibis is practically the same bird, just with slight differences.

Yes, they see a few glossies in SW Manitoba as well and it seems to me the main identifier is the lack of the white-face, otherwise they are much the same.

Great set Trevor.
You did very well with the sun on the wrong side of the bird.
Excellent.

Good shooting, Trevor. The discussion re the Ibis in Manitoba sounds like the "oceanfront property for sale in Arizona" story of old.:-D

Like Jeremy said, you picked some tough light to try to nab these guys Trevor.
I like #'s 1 and 5 as the light was a little kinder and you managed to get nice focus on the head and eye. They definitely have a different look to them, but still very pretty. Well done!
