I had given up on getting any help!
I didn't photograph it with ID in mind
but I recall whorled leaves and flowers, 1m high, high clearing location.
All features suggest Lysimachia quadrifolia.
Good to hear its a native as our woods are so saturated with invasives.
Fun to find things to see for the first time.
