I get it in 2 days! Im excited! I plan on it replacing my 17-50 2.8 as my walkaround! It'll be great paired with the 50 or 70-200!

18-35 paired with a 50 and 85 is a great 4 lens combo on a crop (in my opinion)

I wouldn't expect the price of the 24-35 to drop any time soon. I don't think the price of the 18-35 has dropped since it's release and that's been about 2 years I think.

True....it will at least give me time to see how it performs. I'll let everyone else be the guinea pigs ;)

I was hoping the 24-35mm would match the performance of primes, but apparently that's a bit too much wishful thinking. Still Roger is, on the whole, quite impressed.

It's on my list of possibilities for adding a new lens to my kit and I can't wait to see some images from those that have ordered it. :)

Interesting,

Even though we want to shoot it at f/2, I would have liked to see results once you start to stop it down a bit.
given that we got to see the primes stopped down to get to f/2 in many cases, I would be curious to see how things shape up as it gets stopped down to f/2.8 and f/4

In fact i don't recall ever reading a set of lens tests where the stopped down measurement was not taken. Maybe when he does the test with more copies?
