The game will last 1 week and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked as the winner, and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at. The participants must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the Unsharpen Mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out. You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only. Feel free to comment and/or ask questions at any time. This is a good competition for learning new methods, so let's make it a bit more dynamic. I will be judging edits, not comments. If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #538". Submissions end, Saturday, June 27th, 2015 when I check the thread, and a winner will be announced soonish after. RAW converted in Canon DPP

I haven't looked at Canon DPP for about five years now, and at that time I was still confused by by raw files and didn't understand the concept of not having my edits saved into the image.

So, I learned a bit about Lightroom but was then unhappy with having to work within their system of catalogs. Now, I'm learning how I can do most of my work within Adobe Bridge and only use Lightroom for certain circumstances. But, after seeing your reference to DPP, I watched Canon's introduction videos and see that I could have probably worked solely with DPP for a long time before having to use any of Adobe's expensive and complicated products.

I'm not competing: I Will be away from the comp for a bit. But, I though this would be a cool pic to try out the new Dehaze feature in LR.
LR CC--Auto adjustments all but white balance, +20 sharpness. exported with 3 dehaze settings 0, +20, -20.
PS CC-- merged via layer-masking

Cool, I hadn't discovered the Dehaze tool yet. (It's also in Adobe Camera Raw.) Looks like it's good for either subtracting or adding haze.

thanks.
I find DPP and the gimp get me by for the time being. I've also introduced myself to rawtherapee which seems quite powerful. I used photoshop 1-3 way back in college, but have never needed anything beyond what the Gimp can do also.

David G. Stinner is the winner! Bold move going so red, but I like it.

I might have cloned out the small cloud in the upper right, just to get rid of the distraction.

I've been using Lightroom for most of my post-processing, but have recently been schooled into realizing that Adobe Camera Raw (accessed through Adobe Bridge) has every one of Lightroom's editing tools without the burden of maintaining catalogs. I'm thinking that my workflow ought to be that only images that are going into collections, slide shows, or complicated print jobs need to be in Lightroom.

Okay Dave, you're up. Please post the next round and keep this going. Congratulations!
