wow - really, really good

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Still shooting in the downtown district of St. Augustine. Love the historic buildings.

So lucky to live here..

I took a photograph almost exactly like the first one I quoted. St Augustine is such a beautiful city. We've spent hours walking around the historical/downtown district taking photographs... along with the Alligator Farm. We live just under 2 hours from there but try to get up once a month or so... even more frequently when the bird rookery is in full swing at the Alligator farm.

I'm usually there later in the afternoon. I think that's why I've never run into you there... or maybe I did but was unaware. ;)

I haven't been shooting too much lately, but yesterday I took the afternoon and headed down towards the water. Glad I did!

Pretty sure all three of these were with the 16-35 IS with a B+W 6-stop screw-in ND filter.

You gents with 5DS models - are you seeing hot pixels on long exposures?

I've been reading on upgrading (10 years is a long time without buying any new gear) to the 5DSR, but since I do primarily long exposures the reports of hot pixels has me concerned. 30-60 seconds is my bread and butter, but I do 200-300 seconds quite often as well.

Any thoughts?

I was able to take another day to go out and shoot for myself. Turned out to be quite literally the entire day: I started and ended in the same spot with both a sunrise and a [harvest] moonrise.

I would crop this much tighter and make a massive print for my wall - wow

Also wanted to say that I looked through your Flickr images and there is a lot of really good stuff.

Thanks so much for the kind words!

I may try out a few test prints on the harvest moon shot. Unfortunately, the noise is a pretty rough and the haze killed any sharpness from the Sigma 120-300, but it was still pretty cool to see in person!

Can't beat shooting 8k-pixel-wide panoramas with a single frame. :-P

My girlfriend and I had an awesome opportunity to visit Dublin over the weekend. What an amazing place! Even a surprise hurricane didn't make the trip any less enjoyable.
