Interesting that this would be my first product photography project. I bought a photo tent just in case, but opted for natural light outdoors beneath a pine tree, and used a little black velvet top turn table I got from Amazon. I tried 3 lenses. Canon 90mm tilt shift, Tamron 35mm 1.8 and Irix 150mm macro. The Canon was easily the best, and the Irix at the bottom. I think the Irix is actually best suited to portraits and landscape photography. I think I'll be getting a Canon 100mm macro for actual macro stuff. But the tilt shift is pretty useful for this stuff. I bought the 90mm, 45mm, and plan to get the older 24mm ts-e also.

This gig happened to stem from a consultation related to reviving a small grape vineyard.

Note: the EXIF info for my recent images shows "Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS". I'm actually shooting an FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. The POTN gear database needs to be updated.
