I took advantage of the price drop of 5DS R recently and replaced my 6DmkII. Tried some macro and landscape and am loving this camera.

One of the very first serious images with my Canon 5Ds R and the step up in quality from my Canon 5D classis/Mk 1 is insane.

There's a lot to learn and I'm beginning to see why people call this a difficult camera to work with, but I have a feeling it will be very rewarding once you master it.

Luckily there will be about 80 USAF choppers being transported through the harbor about 10 minutes from my house, so plenty of opportunity to put the camera (and myself) to the test ;-)a .

100% right on it being a difficult camera to work with. When I first got mine I swore there was something wrong with the camera until I realised its large sensor was just unforgiving of my bad camera handling technique :). Once I learned to brace properly and use in the right light conditions things improved greatly although fast forward 4 years and I still have a low keeper rate compared to my previous camera models . The upside though is the keepers I get are well beyond anything I could ever have got with previous cameras. And yes....its absolutely rewarding to see what can be produced off this camera. Its a camera that was certainly well ahead of its time when it was released and still ranks up there 4 years later

Cheers
