Had the camera for a few days now. My hesitation about the 5DSR was the potential for moire, so I have been taking pictures of different materials (men's suits, wedding dresses) and this morning shot some various materials around the house (clothing, pillows, etc). Today's samples all look clean.

I used the 100 L macro on a tripod.

Images were shot in raw, loaded into LR, had 100L profile correction and default sharpening added and then saved with zero modifications.

If you download the files and zoom into 3:1 with LR, the detail is truly amazing.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Took this picture while sitting out at a cafe yesterday.
Because of all the blacks on the bike, I thought it would be a good image to see shadow detail.
The lens was a 70-200 F4 IS shot handheld at 1/200, ISO 160, F9
Some crazy detail in the 3:1 zoom in in LR including a crystal clear serial number that I had no idea was there.
The image was not shot to the right to benefit the shadow detail.
Image has profile correction and standard sharpening.

These threads are making me want this camera BAD!
You can read a serial number on the bike from that pic? Wow, that is really crazy resolution!

I specialize in landscape work and am seriously considering this camera for my new edition to my gear. Anyone have any landscapes to share? Thank you.

As a person who owns both a 5DSR and a A7Rii, I would encourage you to look at a Sony sensor for landscapes. For auto focus, for event reliability, purchase a Canon or Nikon.

So is the 5DSR a keeper?
