I know a fun topic right. Do any of you wear suspenders, I am a big guy and even with a tight belt my slacks tend to droop a bit (I wear long shirts tucked in). I am in the market to pick up a nice heavy duty pair of suspenders and looking for recommendations.

I have suspenders, but rarely wear them these days. Here's a question, though. Do your pants have the buttons sewn in for suspenders?

Nope, however the ones I am looking at have a clasp that clips the pants.

This is the pair I am currently looking at

Then again I could go with this one and make up some straps to carry the cameras with as well

By a big guy do you mean big gut? If so you won't like the suspenders for casual wear baggy
shirt over the pants un-tucked for comfort. Formal just shop around for something tasteful and
comfortable. I'm in the same boat but I'm old so fashion wise I can get away with murder.

By big I am 6'3" with a gut so tall and wide  For everyday I can get away with a belt, and a shirt untucked, but while shooting weddings or other more formal events its sucks to have to sneak away to retuck in the shirt all the time.

I think shirt stays are a better solution than suspenders. Suspenders are to keep your pants up, not to keep your shirt tucked in. Shirt stays connect your shirts to your socks... so your shirt is not going anywhere.

You should also make sure the shirt that you wear have enough length in them to tuck.

The shirts I have are long enough to tuck in, thats not the problem, the problem is I have no back side so as I bend over and move around the pants sag a bit, as I pull them up the shirt will not stay nicely tucked in, by using suspenders my hope is to keep the pants from drooping and messing up my shirt.

Next question is if your pants fit right. I think better to go to a qualified tailor (not a department store or a Men's Warehouse) and ask for his/her advice rather than photogs?

In any case... I've never considered clip-on anything to be "nice"

I used tomwear them when I was required to wear a suit daily, but god knows how many times they've come in and out of style since then. If you are talking about wearing clip ons with casual wear, just dont.

I find the black Dockers Golf pants are great for weddings. They have a rubberized grip on the inside of the waist to keep the shirts tucked in. Plus, the pants no-iron and resists stains.

Haggar makes great pants, Only brand I wear for work. Mine have elastic in the waist around he pocket area to keep the fit as you move. They are great if you need to kneel or get up and sit down a lot. They stay put no matter what. Also they have the rubber shirt grip in most of their pants. Those paired with a long tail shirt and a belt and you should have no problems.

here is their site. When not on sale they can be pricey, but they last for ever.
