Broken/Dropped Lens...what should I do?

You'd be shocked how much you'd get for it- I wouldn't pay for that repair, I think you'd get $500 or so on ebay

Yeah, that repair is more than I would want to pay, I would put it up on eBay and replace it.

I bought a $54 dollar part, which I think will fix what broke. I think with that part replaced, it should function quite well. But I still plan to replace it, and sell the repaired one.

I received the lens back from Canon, and currently just have it taped together, and it is working perfectly, minus manual focus.. I'm still waiting on the replacement filter ring, but I think once that comes and I replace it, the lens will be as good as new. The only thing I'm not sure about is the focus ring. Its seems to be a little loose. I'm not sure if replacing the filter ring will fix that. Right now I have the whole front of the lens taped up.
