One of the reasons to subscribe was the ability to remove haze, it is greyed out and unusable? What gives?

Did you upgrade to Lr6 (perpetual license) or the creative cloud membership LrCC? If you're seeing the slider but it's greyed out, and it's the only one greyed out, it sounds like you bought the perpetual license version.

Figured out the problem, will NOT work with jpegs. Started with some old shots when I was still in JPEG only mode. Had few really good shots from back then I had hoped to improve. Does a great job on raw files though. Thanks

I have just made a discovery with this that I thought I should share.
When you upgrade to the new version of Lightroom CC it creates a new catalogue.
I have just downloaded some pix from an SD card using the ' download to lightroom' dialog box which pops up when I insert an SD card and for some reason they ended up in the old catalogue, these were RAW files BTW.
The haze filter was not available when I opened the pix.
I imported them again from the SD card via my normal route which is to download to a folder and then import into lightroom ( catalogue 2) and the haze filter was available
