It gave it a good try but on my MacBook Pro with the most flash memory you can get - did get 12 pictures to work

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

12 is about all I got to work also but mine were half the resolution of yours. PS still handles it.

I know that an 8 Mpix 20D is a far cry from a 50 Mpix 5DS, but I had no problems stiching nearly 60 20D RAW files in the new LR panoramic option. Thats on an old Dell laptop with a Celeron processor with only 3 GB RAM.

i suspect the issue is the software. I ran a 400 shot pano from my 700D (RAW) using autopano giga. GREAT software!

I believe that LR has a maximum file size of 512Mb or 64K pixels wide....maybe you've reached one of those limits?

PS & LR are very insistent reminding me that they will not handle files in excess of 4GB.

In this video presentation (external link) (for stitched panoramas) from an Adobe trainer it states the size limits I quoted (at the 4.58-5.20 minute mark). There may have been recent changes but the video is only 3 months old.

I've rendered 2GB+ Panos in LR6.

That's good, not everything you read or watch is accurate.

Not only is LR size limited, but I find it isn't always a super-great stitcher. Better results with Autopano Giga with no limits.

Of course the huge advantage with LR is the final stitched result still being a dng file for more editing headroom.
