I am using PS CC (2014.2.2 Release) and LR CC 5.7.1 since last November, upgraded both applications to the '2015' version with Creative Cloud. However, when opening
PS as well as LR the old verions (2014) are shown. It appears that I am still runnig on the previous version. Anybody else having or have had this problem and knows
how to get the latest version working?

Whenever there has been a major update the old version has been left alone so that you have the option of reverting to it if you want to. More than likely you just need to find the shortcut for the new version.

I did find the new exe file (lightroom.exe) for the new version in IE, it does not open the application. Maybe if I uninstall the lot (PS and LR) and re-install that might does the job.

There used to be an issue in that you'd have to log out of creative cloud and then log back in, might be worth a try.

I noticed (using Windows 8.1) that installing the 2015 versions doesn't delete the previous versions and the any shortcuts remaining on your Desktop or Taskbar still point to the old versions. The new versions don't appear to place a new shuortcut icon on to the desktop, to open the new version you need to go to the Windows Start Screen (metro screen) and navigate to the new version to find the new .exe file. Once you have started the program you can use normal window functions to Pin copies/shortcuts to the taskbar or desktop etc.

An alternative way to start was to right click on the old version catalogue file and select the windows option to open with new default program. You can then use windows to navigate to the new EXE file and get the program running....

Well, I re-installed Cloud, un-installed LR and re-installed LR via Creative Cloud. Deleted all shortcuts beforehand. Now I ended up with LR somehow there but not firing up. Tried as admin as well as the standard way. PS still works, but it is the 2014 version.

Quiet a mess, I might have to start from scratch or contact MS (this could be fun).

Many thanks for your advise. I am running Win7 64bit, checked the installation log file, no errors. Tried Adobe website, they mention that LR CC upgrade should be done from within LR and not through CC. I deleted LR via the Windows uninstaller before, therefore I don't have this option any more. I will try to contact them by phone (have not found a ph number yet).

Finally worked out the problem with Adobe Support. I turned Windows Update off and my OS was missing Service Pack 1. After installing this everything worked fine. Thank you everybody for your input.
