I am about to buy a Yn flash and I was interested in buying the YN 568 exII and now I also see the YN600ex rt. What advice can you give me between these two.
My main use is using the flash in TTL and HSS and using in manual as a studio flash with a softbox in my home for some portrait shots

The biggest difference is the triggering system. Both will perform well on your camera in ETTL. To go off camera you need a triggering system. The 600exRT has a reciever built in that it compatible with canons radio triggering system. You would still need a compatible transmitter, either the canon or YN clome. The 568II would need a trigger system like the yn622c or for manual the yn603 system.

The 600 has built in triggering, additional TTL features, and also has ability to use the older optical TTL triggering and features of the 568.

Bottomline, the 600 is the more capable unit. Especially when combined with the YN-E3 trigger/controller on camera.

As both gonzogolf and dmward pointed out the trigger system is a significant differentiator. The YN-600 EX-RT has a built in trigger that is compatible with the top end Canon 600EX-RT. The Yn 568 Ex II does not have a built in radio, but does have optical triggering. This brings you to the point of picking a radio system. The radio trigger system is a major element in the Flash equation.
There are multiple RF triggers available that will work with the Yn 568 Ex II.
Pick a system that meets your requirements now and allows for some growth.
There are pluses and minuses on both side of this, so this needs some thought, unless you have
crazy dollars to do it multiple times.

Hope this helps,

110yd

It will be cheaper in the end to go with the 600 when you want to do off-camera flash. I have three yn600s and like them so far.

Some of my feedback
