This lens was made in 1989. B & H currently has one rated at an 8+ on the 10 point scale that they want $1699 for, and another rated 7 for $749. The listing states scratches to the coating, and the buyer (who has a feedback rating over 2500) will accept returns if it is not as described. If they are just in the coating they may not affect the IQ. I could also consider having it professionally polished and still be ahead. Rick
