I am currently shooting with the 60D which I actually love, I recently was able to start contemplating the purchase of a new SLR. I shoot just about everything and the 60 has really never let me down yet. But I would like to hear from the shooters here as far as the choices that I am up against. Like I said I shoot weddings, parties, wildlife, sporting events, oh and cant forget macro.

So as stated my choices are 6D and the 7D Mii, I've been doing a ton of research on the 2 and figured I'll try to get some objective views here on the forum. This week I'm off and will have time to shoot just about everyday almost. So your thuoghts will be crucial to me. Thanks

Which is more important.. low light and Image Quality OR
AF and FPS?

In the end, I needed the AF to be where I wanted it, and was tired of focus/recompose on the limited outer points.. so I went 7DII. No regrets. Also have 5DII for FF/shallow DOF when I need it, but can't wait to scrape money together for a 5D3. The combo (7D2 and 5D3) will make me very happy indeed.

But your needs may vary. And in the end, both cameras will do what you listed, and neither is a bad choice.

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.

I take more photos of wildlife, especially birds, than I do landscapes, etc. I know there are quite a few people who suggest if you don't own a full frame camera, you'll never get brilliant photographs.

I don't claim to have enough experience to make that determination but I will say this: I love using the 7D2 and have been getting photographs I've never been able to before....... The combo of the 7D2 and 100-400ii is a pleasure to use. Take a look at the 7D2 thread.... there are some outstanding photographs posted there.

The options layed before me were given to me from my local shop, to try the 6D and if not fully satisfied I would have the option to return it and get my original order of the 7D Mii. I appreciate the help guys, my experience is not vast either I am just a photo nut/buff if you could call it that. I have solved many issues here on this forum time and time again....

My opinion is that if you need the AF system of a 7D2, you already know that. If you do, buy one. If the 60D has served you well, with generally few complaints, you'll be happy with the 6D. I own the 60D and the 6D. The 60D is packed away in its original box because I refuse to sell such a good camera for today's used prices. The 6D is the perfect upgrade, if you are happy with the 60D.

You will love either of them and really cannot go wrong unless you are specifically shooting certain things. Both will do everything well and some things better than the other.

I have a 6D and absolutely love it. That being said I've longed for something to shoot sports and wildlife.... something with better AF, more FPS and the crop factor. My next purchase will be a 7D2. The 6D will remain my prime shooter for the bulk of what I do, which is not sports and wildlife.

Looking at your Flickr account and based on the description of what you shoot it is likely you are asking the wrong question. The question you should be asking is "Which camera should I get first?"

You can get the 6D first and keep the 60D for sports until you can swing the purchase of the second body. You are happy with the 60D so it should still work for your sports camera.

If sports and macro work is more important than weddings etc, then get the 7D MII first.

If you only want one camera save up a little longer and go ahead and get the 5D Mark III. :-D

rubbish, total and utter rubbish. you will get "brilliant photos" from the camera that you have in your hand. Once it's in your hand you will need to learn as much as you can about how the camera works and what's the best way for you to get the results you want. The camera is a tool and you look around the web you will see that people got brilliant photos from the cheapest camera to the most expensive camera.

I think you will be better suited towards the 7Dmk2. You can still do landscapes with the 7Dmk2 because there is no one set focal length for Landscapes. You can use anything from a 17mm to 400mm for landscapes.

Went out and shot with the 6D and love it, but as stated I feel the AF tracking on the 7D Mii would do better for the sports and the wildlife. Dont get me wrong I got some great shots and after all it is a full frame and the IQ should just jump out. I am going to sell the T3i to cover some of the costs of the new cameras. I would love to see if I could work out a deal to get and keep both the 6D and the 7D mii. I think both cameras would be improvements/upgrades over my 60D. For now that's just a wishful thought.
