One of those shots that just worked out. He also did a great job staying really still for the 25 second exposure. Lol
Shot from High Rock Lookout in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
CC always welcome

Appreciate the feedback, Bob. I completely get your thoughts here. This was more of a happenstance then a planned picture. Regular updates on my Instagram accounts.

Jun 29, 2015 15:39 | #9 Just awesome. This is great. Matt_Ferris wrote in post #17614706 Appreciate the feedback, Bob. I completely get your thoughts here. This was more of a happenstance then a planned picture. The whole story of this is, I took him camping for his Bachelor get-a-way and we just got done taking one of us together facing towards the mountain enjoying the incredible scenery. Neither one of us had any sort of service, until we got out to that rock. He got a text from his bride to be asking if we arrived safely. So He stayed up there for a minuet after we took our picture facing the mountain, to tell her we made it safe and sound. The glow lit up his face so I told him to freeze. ![]() With this in mind, the shot is even better. FarmerTed1971 fondling the 5D4 More info | Jun 29, 2015 15:39 | #10 One suggestion.... tighter crop perhaps. The area over his shoulder is dark and isn't really needed in the comp. Perhaps crop in from Right upper corner over and down a bit. There is not much detail in the sky there that you will miss either. Care to try and repost? It'll be a while before I can, but I'll play with it after work tonight. moJoePDX wrote in post #17614743 "Bro, sit still for 25 seconds!" Hehe awesome man. Hahaha. Pretty much nailed it. Said hey, will you stay there for a min so I can take another one? He said sure and that's when I told him not to move for 25 seconds.. He just looked at me with that "really" face. Lol. Thanks, Joe. LincsRP wrote in post #17614744 Great shot. Really love this image. Seeing as it's a 1DX my thoughts would be why ISO 100? I would have belted this out at ISO 3200, 6400 or 12800 as the 1DX is designed for high ISO use? Irrespective of my comments, I'd love this in my portfolio!!! Thanks, LincsRp. Reason for the longer exposure was to get the movement in the clouds. IMHO, it made the picture a little more unique. LV Moose wrote in post #17614749 It rocks. Especially with the explanation. Thank you, LV Moose. Regular updates on my Instagram accounts.
