Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS II USM Lens

Hi Guys,

So far, all the lenses I have are fairly cheap, non L lenses and I think I'm ready to make the plunge and get the Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS II USM Lens if I find one for a decent price.

Its about £1500 new here in the UK - As I've never puchased a lens costing more than £200, its a bit of a stretch for me, so I'm looking for one thats second hand, and I'm hoping to pay no more than £1000 for it.

I think everyone would agree that this is a very good lens - can anyone point me in the right direction for a good place to find used kit at decent prices? Ebay would be the obvious place, but everyone seems to inflate their prices to cover the ebay fees.

Look on the Panamoz website... £1200 new..
They import all their stuff so are much cheaper. Apparently very good to deal with..

Unfortunately, still a little more than what I want to pay.

I'm actually out in Ottawa in a few weeks - perhaps someone knows of somewhere that sells it for the price I'm after (not sure if its cheaper in Canada)

Think your struggle to get a very good used one for £1k, they usually go for £1,100 to £1,250. They are a wonderful lens, owned mine for 11 months and it will take your photography to the next level. Good luck in your search.

Thanks Pcousins - I think its one of those ones where you really have to search deep and wait a while, but I'm hoping one will come up eventually!

I couldn't bring myself to paying £1100 used when it can be had for £1176 new from Panamoz with a 3 year warranty - tbh that's a very good price but still slightly over budget

Thanks Joe - They have one up for sale on there although not sure if they would ship to the UK, and it can still be had brand new for less money from here.

I think the one on Panamoz is a very attractive deal! I wonder if they could offer some discount if I gave them a cheeky call!

Royal Mail might be able to help you out there.

Fordmondeo didn't want to post it, and based on the value, its fair enough!

I've gone ahead and purchased a new one from Panamoz now. Managed to get it for £1150 brand new, delivered and with a 3 year UK warranty - can't complain!
