Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This weeks the theme is Fences. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Good Fences Make for Good Neighbors... So the saying goes. Show us some Fences!

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

A very cool theme, Joayne!
Never shot a fence before (unless accidentally when shooting something else), so it's going to be an interesting week. New things to learn. Yay!

Renata, nice job maximizing the gain from some rather ordinary objects.

I don't have any fence shots yet. Still thinking.

Thank you for your kind words, Oh. I wish you a happy hunt for some nice or ugly fences :)

As my luck usually has it, it seems that a new challenge is posted about a week after I've taken a shot that would fit well. I know this shot is 'too old' but I'll probably never get a chance to share it again so here it is. It was shot on 6/19 and I"ll be glad to remove it if desired.

Here is the fence at the entry to my house. I noticed stepping out on my patio that I had gained two new fence posts so I snuck back inside to grab my camera.

Thanks for posting, Doc! Nice fence posts. I'm often in the same boat shooting something the week before the new theme gets posted. :) such is life

Wow, great start.

Commentary: I just realized why I have a hard time following these threads. It's because they are in member activities, and not competitions. Not that I go into that forum, but when I am looking for this, I guess I do.

I really like that they are in this forum. :D

I like the second because the fence is visible in the whole frame, whereas in the first, it is partially covered in black.

Very nice start to the week Renata and Doc.

LHB...I think I prefer the first one for the mysteries that may be behind it in the dark.

Nice start of the week!

Renata, I like #3. Very pretty shot that.

LHB, I agree with Kevin, definitely #1. There's just more drama in that shot.

Thanks folks, I think it's time to look at my monitor calibration. As you describe, they are much darker on my phone too.

There weren't any "no detail" areas on my computer screen.
