Trona pinnacles sunrise.

It was my first time out here. Star Trek, battles tar galactica, planet of the apes etc. we're all filmed here. One of the best experiences shooting a sunrise I've ever had. A surprise rainbow even showed up behind me as I was leaving. I would have missed it if I didn't turn around. Let me know what you guys think. I've done just about all I can think of with editing but I think I can do more. I just don't know what. Help please.

They look pretty good to me, but I think I'd have lightened the rocks a bit more in #s 3-5.
#4 seems lighter at the bottom than at the top of the rocks. Maybe you could even that out?

Most of the shots seems a little underexposed to me - not surprised since it looks like you were mostly exposing for the skies. I'd boost exposure/shadows in those areas.

For some of those closer wide shots you might want enable some perspective correction, but that's all personal preference.

I'm not sure I'm feeling the centered crop in #3 - if you cropped to push the peak to one side or the other I think it would feel a little less static.

Nice wide landscape with #5 - I'd bring up the ground/mountain range some and crop off the top section right below the [Unseen] apex of the top rainbow.

I think the shots are ok as is, but these would definitely be candidates for exposure bracketed shots. If you had done multiple exposures to get proper exposure for the sky and the rocks, it would have added tremendously to the shots. And I love the double rainbow whether the exposure it right or not in the shot.
You don't get a chance to see a double very often and you captured it pretty darn well.

Thanks guys. 3,4 and 5 actually are bracketed shots of seven exposures. I don't know what I was thinking when underexposing the rocks. Maybe I was tired lol I'll re work them in a little bit and post them to see if you like them better

Re-edits look great! Nice job. My only complaint on the first shots would have been consistent with others, in that the foreground was a little dark.

Regarding the rainbow. It sounds like you saw it by just turning around from where you were shooting the rocks. I think it's a nice snapshot of a double. I also think it could have been turned into a beautiful photograph if you could have gone to the other side of the rocks you photographed in the other images, and put the rainbow above them.

Sometimes we get caught up in the "ooh! something cool/pretty/exciting to shoot!" and forget about the basics of composing.

Damn... Good point. I didn't even think about that until you mentioned it. Why couldn't you have been there with me to tell me!! Lol I guess I was just too excited and wanted to capture the rainbow before it went away. thanks though!
