When I photograph kids and families, I like to do lifestyle -- just follow the kids around playing, etc. I go natural light for most of it, but there are times when some additional fill light, especially to deal with racoon eyes.

Any tips or tricks beside using a bare flash on camera or moving around a big softbox and stand for every shot?

I've seen mini softboxes that fit over the head of a speedlite but haven't used one. I just use the bare head, but with the power reduced. It doesn't take much to fill in the eyes. Kids are too fast for anything that requires setup.

Do you have any photos you could share?
