I bet the 50mm 1.4 and 90 TS get updates in the next 3-5 years.

I bet the 50mm 1.4 will get replaced with something with IS and join the 24/28/35 premium non-L prime range. Maybe not, though. Who knows if it'll still be 1.4...doesn't really need to be honestly.

The 50mm compact macro needs an update. They don't really need to touch the optics at all, the optics are timeless really. Just needs STM treatment like the 1.8 version. If they do update it I wouldn't be surprised if the focal length changes slightly. Just a hunch.

The 85mm 1.8 and 100 2 could use an update to reduce LoCA and give them IS. Dubious if they will be updated in 3-5 years though, maybe. I bet the 90TS and 50 1.4 get update first.

I didn't realize just how old the Canon 50 1.4 is. It and a few others from Canon need some updating to compete with offerings from other manufactures, namely Sigma ART series.

I saw on Canon Rumors that the 50mm f1.8 STM and 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS STM were anounced by the same person, but as we know only the 50mm f1.8 STM was released. Hopefully the new 70-300mm stm will be released soon. Also last year, there was a rumor that there would be a canon 18-300mm IS STM coming soon.

Canon 7D Mark ii, 17-55 f2.8, 24-105L f4, 50 f1.8 stm, 85mm f1.8, Sigma 70-200 f2.8 OS, Sigma 18-300 OS C, Canon Speedlite 430ex ii

^ I don't find a fault in the 135L, except as other mentioned in eliminating CA, weather sealing, and perhaps the flush AF switch.
I think a replacement perhaps of the same f stop and no IS will be released by 2018.

I don't know anything about the longer lenses, or their faults.

The 180mm macro I don't see being replaced any time soon, if ever.
It is not in high demand, though it has a specific user, much like the MP 5x macro lens.
