cicopo Goldmember More info | Apr 14, 2016 19:54 | #7 I have a lot of experience with this lens shooting radio control flying events. It was my primary flight line lens until I bought the 28-300 L IS so I used it for 5 or 6 summers. I had put it up for sale but found out that parts for it were discontinued so servicing it was a problem & I wasn't willing to sell it & later have an out of luck buyer. I still use it from time to time just to see how well it compares on more modern bodies. A skill is developed through constant practice with a passion to improve, not bought.

Now that I see my previous samples have died after moving my photos from Picasa Web Albums to Flickr I think I will add even more as my event season gets going. I've been alternating between the 35-350 & 28-300 IS just to see if I notice any major differences in the images & so far nothing sets them apart other than when I've needed the IS on the newer lens. I used my 35-350 more when I had a 5D1....but one can still find a lot of use for it on a crop body. I was shooting pictures for a peewee football league one year when my 100-400 (Gen 1) crapped out on me and had to be sent in to Canon for repairs, so my best option at the time was to throw my 35-350mm on there for the rest of the season. And you know what? In good light, it worked just about as well on on my old 40D as the 100-400 did on the same body. Gear List

cicopo Goldmember More info | Aug 15, 2019 14:57 | #11 The Red Arrows opened their North American tour locally on Tuesday & to be sure I had what I needed lens wise I took both my 28-300 L IS & the 35-350 L which came in handy. The 28-300 has been on my 1D4 for most of it's use at RC events & when I switched it over to my 7D2 2 weeks ago & again on Tuesday it gave me a lens communication error while shooting. I wasn't expecting that but since my shutter speeds were going to be high I just put the 35-350 on & kept working. These are from the 7D2 & 35-350 shot in RAW & processed in ACR.
