A stunning shot NC thanks for sharing an inspiration this one!! Could you give me some details on gear used to take the picture and shutter speed iso etc.,please. Black and white birds are no easy thing to get the exposure right on and still retain all the details especially in flight,would you care to explain to me how you worked out the correct exposure off the sky,aswell please.

I frequently check exposure manually, usually using grass as it gives )me) an accurate exposure. I added teh exposure based on the light conditions, checking periodically with similar birds for exposure. I edited with Elements 13, but not much - I am crap with PP and just do some minor tweaks & cropping.
