I've been considering picking one up myself. I don't think Canon glass (at least EF/EFS) is going to work very well without expensive adapters. I think the metabones one is around $600. If you're using old MF Canon FD/FL glass or any MF glass for that matter then you should be good with simple adapters, although I don't think the M5 has focus peaking that some love when using MF glass. From what I hear, the experience with old MF glass is one of the strengths of mirrorless cameras.
Please note that I'm not talking from experience here, just from what little research I've done since I'm considering an M10 or M10 II purchase as a lightweight and compact travel camera. I have a few older FD lenses and Minoltas myself.
I'll be interested to see how you like it.
i use canon fd lenses and nikon and minolta all manual lenses.they work great, itdoesmt have peaking but magnify works very well, ibis is amazing with old glass, punch in the focal length and good to go,i use the em5 more than my sony a7.the features the em5 has are unbelievable, live time is a sick feature, get one, they are cheap now with em5ii out,I've seen them very cheap,i can't say enough about this cam
