Took widest into PL4 for lens corrections and NR then to AP to replace the sky and clone out modern distraction to make it look a bit more rustic, then back to PL4 to adjust selective tone and contrast, add split toning and vignette.

Hello Vrkala, Please read the rules of the competition before posting. It is a weekly competition hosted by someone who posts an image for others to work on and then at the end of the designated time, the OP chooses a winner and the next person carries on so random posts aren't eligible.

Hello Vrkala. Welcome to POTN. As NigelD pointed out there are specific rules for posting images in this thread. The Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge is actually a competition where someone posts an unedited image, preferably in raw, and we compete by applying our own edits to it. The winner, who is selected by the poster of the current unedited image, then posts the next unedited image. See the first post on page 1 for the complete rules. There are other locations in POTN where you can post your random before and after images.

Competition closed for this week. Will post decision soon.
Below is my own treatment.
Aurora HDR, then to Luminar - enhanced contrast, colours, details; cloned/deleted all "modern" intrusions (back buildings, car, poles, drain pipe, etc), changed sky to another of mine, and adjusted look. Like some of the ones above better though. Cool bear too.

Thank you all. As usual - really tough choices. Different looks / atmosphere, but all work on this subject. (My own is rather too orange/yellow - would lighten up, next version.)

rrblint and Mozes - really like the sky treatment and colouring. mwsilver - nice transformation of the lighting to very warm evening glow. Bianchi: that is one nice looking bear + great atmosphere, mist etc in the crop.

My own favourite is Stiga's: very inviting green of the house and rich, light colours/accents in the water, trees and brambles.

I also note that I like the job vrkala did on the bonus submission. Welcome, and please join us here again on the thread.

Stiga - please take it from here.

- Rob

Wow, that came out of nowhere and I was not expecting it. Thanks Rob.

Right now, I have no idea what to upload. My supply of recent stuff is almost dry due to Covid lockdown - but I'll find something.

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge
...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

I'm going to break the rules a bit this week. The images are not SOOC, they are SOOS (straight out of scanner!) My daughter has passed onto me over 100n scanned Kodachromes to be "reclaimed" so I thought I would get some tips from the experts on colour casts, over-exposure, out of focus, dust in abundance and many other faults. Here are 12 for you to choose from, please select a few and point me in the right direction! The file names will give you a few clues as to where I have been over the last 60 years or so!

Here is the pCloud download link (external link).

And here is all the usual stuff that goes at the top!

Rules are simple:

Download the image files for the current week from the link below.

Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (as many entries as you like)

The owner of the original image will choose a winner

The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc

(Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files)

The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.
