Aurora HDR for initial adjustments mainly to bring out sky and to water, then to Luminar (4 and Ai) for straightening, cloning out distraction in lower left of frame, slight cropping, slight increase in aspect ratio (height), adjustments to colour and saturation.

1. DxO PL4 > denoise & lens correction > export as DNG
2. SNS-HDR
3. Minor adjustments using PS
(All images were sharpened with Topaz Sharpen AI)

IMAGE: https://imgpile.com/images/N6FMWX.jpg

Used 3, in Luminar AI to do a couple of sky replacement

No posts for more than 2 weeks. Surely, Renata, it is wind-up time.

Was wondering if anyone was still around ... . In the meantime - has anyone here looked into Luminar NEO yet?

She active here on POTN, I seen her post on another thread just recently. She probably forgot all about this thread.

Hi Rob,
Skylum is launching a new editing program called Luminar Neo, it will be Layer based.

Some new features: Layers, Relight AI, Portrait Background Removal AI, Mask AI.

I sent you a PM about Neo.

Also checkout https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1523185 for more details.

Thanks Bianchi and Martin for above posts and links. Was pretty disappointed that AI didn't have many "serious" editing features. Great at what it does, but not for my needs, though I do like AI's Erase and Clone tools. And sky replacement is better. Otherwise, I'm using Luminar 4 still for anything w layers and other stuff. The promise of NEO is good (of course) and the upgrade price not too onerous - though it should indeed be a free upgrade for anyone who has already paid for AI.

Was watching this video earlier today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPcQm2Scq4U (external link)

Thanks Renata. I note that you edit looks very similar to Rob's :-)

Now, Rob, if you can tear yourself away from the Canadian election, what's next?

Yes, it's close to it and I had processed my image 2 years ago :)
If he can't, the next person in line would be you for the glowing sunset one :)

Hi - Just tuned in. Thanks for the win Renata. Good treatments all and a very nice image to work with. Also very much liked Stiga's warm sunset. I will have a hunt through mine.

Yes, Martin I was up late last night as the election returns came in slowly across the five Canadian time zones (though the dog and I fell asleep on the couch part way through Alberta). At the end of the evening, not much changed.

Back soon.

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge

The next editing challenge. Images to work with are at the links below. Have linked the directory two ways in case one doesn't work for you. If neither is accessible, please let me know and I'll post another way.

The .CR2 images are a R to L pan, hand-held, Canon EOS 5D ii with 24-105 L lens.

Raw composite screen grab below as the frames appear stitched in ICE, basic cylindrical projection (auto).

Use whatever frames, parts of frames, you like, or the whole spread. Subject is Bay de Verde, Newfoundland.

https://www.dropbox.com …0tT14o-UU05JBAVmXT2a?dl=0 (external link)

Enjoy! - Rob

The Standard Rules:

Download the image file from the current week

Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (1 entry per week)

The owner of the original image will choose a winner

The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc
(Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files)

The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.
