Hope everybody had a nice Christmas! I was wondering can anyone tell me, when and who posts the weekly picture for the editing challenge? I really like to see the various perceptions and point of view for the same picture.

Hi jp3ters and welcome. Whoever posted the previous RAW file leaves it up for a week then chooses the winner. It is then that winner's turn to post the next RAW file, repeat ad infinitum...

Why not post a version of the current file yourself?

Thanks for the explanation and welcoming, I will give a try.

I simply did not understood have I missed this week, or it is this weeks picture still active.

This week's challenge is still open. It's supposed to end sometime today, most likely late tonight(American time). Sometimes life gets in the way and it continues for a couple of days longer. I think you still have time(probably 4-5 hours at least).

Okay, my first try, as mainly I stick to natural feeling, here I would like to try something out of my box, tried to make a different vision, therefore I cropped the picture, leaving in focus lighthouse, and wanted to play with the water glitter. I was working mainly with Tone curve, and a little saturation on separate colors; then adding post-crop vignetting.

I am open for comments :)

Here's my contribution, My first try too, and I'm not a good editor so feel free to critique, but if advise is offered I may need explanation on the how-to's. I just cropped a bit, couple graduated filters to blue up the top of the sky, dehazed the rocks with a brush added a bit of highlight and exposure to the light house, sent to PS, cloned a couple thing out on top, tried to clean up the sand a little with a mid opacity layer, added a low radius high pass filter, besides some basic adjustments I think thats about it. I'm pretty new to photography, so my lingo, nor my edit be spot on.

Winner is first timer DogDaze. I like the natural look and I think he (she?) did the best job with the sky.

Very close runner ups were Bianchi and Doug. I can't help feeling that Doug would have won had he not decided to blow up the lighthouse with a bomb  who knows how many got injured in that explosion

Bianchi, you have some amazing skills but I couln't give it to you because the rules state that you should share what you did, I'm guessing so others can learn. Awesome job though!

Good job everyone!

Congratulations Eric. That's the problem with competitions on this site, winning always entails more work
