It's easiest if you Quote the original then just remove the quote tags around it - this way all the other tags remain.

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge
...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

Rules are simple:

• Download the image file from the current week
  
  
• Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (1 entry per week)
  
  
• The owner of the original image will choose a winner
  
  
• The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

  The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc
  (Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files)

I'm not very good with this stuff but here is what I came up with. Highlights down, shadows up, rotate and crop. Exported to gimp and transformed, sharpened and unsharp masked the sign to make it more legible. Hopefully this gives some contex for the image. Resized and then unsharp mask again.

RAWTHERAPEE auto-levels and a tone curve applied. Perspective geometry adjusted for reasons. RL deconvolution sharpening.

In ACR, lowered the highlights and whites, raised shadows, lens correction and distortion, goofed around a little with the color channels then
off to PS for some selective color adjustments to kind of separate some of the greens and yellows in the foliage, some grunge sharpening(to see what would happen) masked
off with an inverted green channel mask(softened with a gaussian blur, raised the brightness a bit. I think that's about it.

I'm basically a bull in a china shop, but here's my effort. Some exposure adjustments along with brightness. Selected level adjustments. Basically bringing the clouds out a bit and the texture of the building on the right. It's a start....

ETA: ...and also did a touch of physical leveling of the image.

This is fun, I like this contest! For a really long time, I have been lazy and watching from the side, but joining in and having the support from all of you is way better!
