Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge

Cropped for triads and triangles. converted to BW to show those structures better, Used PS Elements15 then LR and SilverFX went with selenium and enhanced structure tweaked. decreased shadow enhanced highlights in overly dark areas, reverse in the over bright areas. that was it.

Not too much adjustment on the base image. But I added a little extra here and there.

I think you are correct.

didereaux wins with the black and white.

Good Job, I got the brochure for ya, but the "expenses paid" part your on your own.

Here's a real challenge. There is/one or two good photos in there somewhere. Almost evening at Schweitzer ski basin overlooking Pend d'Oreille Lake in far northern Idaho.'

Here is the next picture up to edit. I'll pick a winner on 2-14 Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge ...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!
Rules are simple: Download the image file from the current week
Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (1 entry per week)
The owner of the original image will choose a winner The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link
The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc (Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files)

Congrats Didereaux.

Here's a straight edit: Raised shadows, lowered highlights, adjusted contrast, and cleaned up the near hillside

In ACR, lowered saturation, clarity and vibrance, raised blacks and shadows some, in PS added a Sunset 3dLUT + some saturation.

Adjusted in LR: Contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity. Played with Saturation of Orange, yellow, green, aqua, and blue, A bit of Luminance adjustment, Profile correction for CA, then some cleaning up of the foreground hill in PS. Also cropped the bottom just a tad.
