I understand your dilemma, but it is self inflicted. Many imported products have the same
kind of warranty structure. I don't have any interest in Surui or its distribution chain, but
here is the link to US distributors.

Before I purchased my Surui gear, I actually called Argraph so I understood the warranty.

Good luck,

If you buy a RIES tripod you don't have these service problems. They do honor their lifetime guarantees.

Thanks for your kind offer.

All's well that ends well, and finally (blind squirrel theory?) - I figured it out and successfully reassembled my collection of parts.

It, once again, is a functional monopod.

Thanks again,
dale

Glad you got it sorted!

Once you have worked them out the Sirui leg locks are pretty straightforward to take apart and re-assemble. If you haven't got them worked out then it can be fun!

Try a Feisol if you want a real giggle! They are quite simple really but if you get the rings out of sequence? A bit of a headache but no biggie! A bit of logic will get it sorted.

After all these are only tripods not exactly rocket science?

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

I bought a top of the line Sirui monopod - Model 426S - last October from an ebay seller in Hong Kong.

For the record - I have no idea where to purchase "authorized" products from Argraph - who I've just learned is Sirui's only USA distributor.

How can we buy from a company with no identifiable sales channel or locations or whatever?

Seems pretty clear to me where to purchase in the States, but then I don't have a PhD but married one. Based on a sample size of 1, the tendency of PhD's is to lack common sense.

The link from the website takes you to http://www.sirui.com …-of-us-sirui-dealers.html (external link). Perhaps there is something local who can give you a helping hand. But the website is very clear they do not support products unless purchased at a US authorized dealer.
