Hi guys,

First post here. I wanted to share a series that I've started, to study the lighting technique of popular photographers using entry level gear, and later the entire retouching workflow. This first shoot we tried to do Annie.

Here are the final images:

Hope you guys like it. Feedbacks welcome!

Very good video. Any tips for setting up PS for retouching? You have a nice workspace there.

Edit: My bad. The whole point is to advertise the PS workflow panel. Seems pretty useful though.

Hi guys, thanks for the encouragement. We are working one other photographers style that I will share in the future.

@sipowicz: Yes, these were supposed to be demo tutorials designed to help the panel users, but we went an extra step to recreate a style from start to finish, including behind the scenes, as we wanted to show that its not an effect in photoshop that helps you achieve a certain photographers look. The panel is a real time saver, but you don't need it as most of the techniques shown can be done with generic tools in PS.

I agree. Plus the guy speaking in the video is kind of hard to understand.

I have a couple of images that I would like to take to this direction. What do you guys suggest? Less saturation? Less orange?

I have started with Lightroom and have not done anything in PS yet. Now that I exported them, I notice that there's too much grain. I have to take that down. They are not very well lit in the first place but I guess I have to live with these files.

I think you should address and fix the the tie and the fit of the jacket first and soften the imperfection of this persons scars and creases in his face. For my taste I would minimize the light ratio and the vignette. If this is a personal portrait, I strongly suggest you make the skin tone as close to your client's present skin tone. Hope that helps.
