out of the lot, I think I like the last one best. The venue looks pretty awesome.

On the first two, the selective coloring ins't for me, but YMMV.

Just so you know: most protogs don't like the GWC standing behind them, shooting over their shoulder.

I agree. Very annoying for the paid professional..

That first photo I'm sorry to say is way over the top and not aesthetically pleasing at all

With the greatest of respect to any professional photographers, they can go take a run and jump! If I'm in their way, interfering with their magic, then I'd expect a sharp word. However, as a guest and in open areas where the couple welcomed photo's, I'm there.

Sometimes its the bride and grooms fault. Many photographers include in their contract a stipulation that guests and family members are not allowed to take photos during formal portraits. Couples really ought to put this on their wedding wire, invitations, and have a sign up as people enter the venue. This is because of both copyright considerations (if the photographer is setting the composition, lighting, and posing, its really their creative intent) and because its just a natural reaction for people in the photo to look over the shoulder of the pro and wonder who the jackwagon is standing 10 feet behind them with a telephoto lens. That way if the couple complains when the formal portraits come out and someone is always looking off into outer space, that's why.

^this. It's so bad when the subjects aren't sure where to look. Takes time away from an already hectic schedule.

Selective coloring makes my eyes bleed. Seriously, it's awful. Good composition though.

Re shooting over the togs' shoulder - that first one looks like you are square and center. If you're over his shoulder, you must be right on top of him. Seems like the bride at least is looking at you. The second photo you seem to be in the prime position. I really hope you didn't muscle your way there, and that the paid tog was missing. Otherwise, you're making a nuisance of yourself.

It's one thing to have people shooting over your shoulder (annoying, because the couple keep looking everywhere but into your own viewfinder), it's another level of annoying when you've got some dude's elbow in your face when the confetti is getting thrown.

For future reference, let the paid tog do his job and if you're going to shoot some stuff of your own, that's cool, but use a longer lens so you don't crowd the girl/guy who has been hired.

Because your needs are more important than the bride and groom's rights to the good photos they paid for. Way to keep it in perspective.

My thoughts exactly. Some of us don't feel the need to have a "sharp word" with a guest at someone's wedding as we generally expect the guests to have 1) manners (common courtesy), 2) respect for the bride and groom. If a photographer has to have a "sharp word" with the guest then it would be evident they had neither. The OP's statement just highlights that they only have regard for themselves and sod anyone else.

On a side note the processing on the images is horrible.

You're right...nobody can stop you.

But you're not saving the day shooting over the photographer's shoulder. As everyone else mentioned...it's not even a problem directly with the photographer. It's the subjects of the photo, who are hard enough to keep the attention of without another camera being aimed their way.

Don't do whatever you want until someone to tells you to stop. At the very least, wait your turn.

Odd no one here was at that wedding so no one knows for a fact just how much this guy was or wasnt in the paid photogs way...or how little that professional was annoyed by him b3casue as a professional he knows how to deal with this... yet he's already been determined a nuisance

Understandably many of you that are wedding photographers go thru some rough experiences ... but it seems like no one can share wedding photos on this forum without getting usual comments about what a nuisance they were being for daring to take photos

Complete disregard to the bride and groom on their big day. The professional photographer shouldn't have to give you a sharp word. You should have the common courtesy to recognize someone is trying to perform a job, and stay out of their way. And like others have mentioned, the processing is abysmal. Selective color is horrid and should never be employed. Not sure what camera you used, but the overall quality of the photos is not good. Can't be sure if that's the camera itself or your processing.
