for comparison shoot from last year (with 85mm L), the same place, the same waether, different model and from left side.
Both of them (I mean lenses) have something special. That's why we love them.

Personally prefer compression of 1.8.
Two very, very nice shots.

I paid $3400 plus tax from KEH for mine, this year. When I took possession of it I SWEAR it came right out of the original box... It is THAT perfect! You won't be disappointed if you get ahold of one!!!!!!!

Guess I paid quite a bit for mine from FM, months ago, $3,699.00
I love it just the same, it is in perfect good condition, not like the beat up one's on eBay.

Really wish I bought this lens with my 10D back in 2003. Would've gotten it brand new at a good price to boot!

Are there any first owners here who got there 200/1.8 in 2003? If there are how much was it brand new in the year you got the lens?

No problem Butchie. My question's more of the side of intellectual curiosity. :)

Dreaming of a DeLorean so I can travel back and get the final fresh copy. :) Extreme googling had the price of a fresh copy going for as low as $2,500 before the announced end of production.

I got my for 3650$ (December 2011, will celebrtate 1 year soon :D), UL1150.
Started looking here, and with big help of Jonko got my light pump prime, donated 85mm II, but not regretting. :)
