At the bird feeder today. The birds didn't seem bothered by the 200mm lens.

Did you map it out in a CAD file by chance? I'd love to try to make it. I have access to a CNC.

I got this lens last week, and i'm very happy about it.
The original transport box is quite bulky.
I dont like the original lenshood design, so i made my own from a 8$ plasticpipe and black kinesio tape. :D
It cant be reversed, of course.
Stays in place well by only beeing sqeezed on the metalring in the front.
cant keep up with the alloy lathe work (wich is absolutely bw!) but works fine.
And as i will hardly need to access the switches - my unique fullbody lenscoat.
All fits in the LensCase5 perfectly, with lenshood in place. And is not much bigger than the original Canon Case.
The size of the tripodmount sucks. But the replacement RRS LCF-40 is about 100$ in europe, wich sucks even more.
If "luck-photos" has a milling cutter to make a cheap, flat, long, Arca-Swiss compatible replacement foot, i will take one. :)
Greetings from Germany.
