Not a fungus expert, but I cleaned recently one spot at old lens.
Regular lens cleaner liquid will not get it, I made one from recipe available on-line in Leica M3 repair manual.
Water, vinegar and peroxide. Applied it on the fungus spot and let it sit for few minutes. Cleaned the lens after it.
Try it on little part of the affected surface.

It's my beloved Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 that has the fungus. Luckily, none of my other lenses are affected. I don't shoot much nowadays due to lack of time, so all my gear is stowed in bags or boxes. I always leave the Tamron attached to the camera. I wonder if that increases the risk of fungus... I live in a hot and humid country, so fungus is something I have to deal with.

I'm going to stow all my gear in a dry box from now on. Hopefully that's enough to prevent more issues.

As for my Tamron, there's no fix I'm afraid. The fungus has etched the glass. I also noticed a big fungus spot on the rear element. Servicing the lens to replace both front and rear element probably cost just as much as buying a new one. I'm not sure if it's safe to continue using it though.. Can the fungus spread to the body?? That's my biggest concern now.

Hot, humid, and dark, the perfect environment for fungus.

I suppose it could grow inside a camera but I have never seen it happen. It seems to be attracted to the coatings on lenses. But keeping things dry is never a bad idea.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
