I've got some time in Sept, Oct and Nov to travel to a high-end professioinal photography workshop to perfect travel shooting skills. Can you suggest where to look for such things? Back of photo magazines? Internet? I'm not sure which promotions to trust.

You mean travel photography? I'd just find some photographers whose work you like in that field, and then check their social media to see if they have any workshops coming up. Workshops are a big source of potential income for photographers with experience/skills so a lot of them are offering them from time to time. I'm sure if you found 10 guys who have work you like in whatever you're trying to learn...you'll find that at least 3 of them are offering a workshop. Then it's just a matter of hoping your schedule aligns with their course dates.

Worst case scenario, just email them direct and ask them about a 1 on 1.

We don't know where you are living (no Location info) and we don't know where you are thinking about travelling so give us some info! There are photography workshops all around the globe! Wanna go on an Africa safari?

I'm in NYC and would like to travel in Italy, France, India, the Western US and the National Parks as just some. I would like to hook up with a Nat Geo shooter and a small group with workshop as the raison d'etre of the trip rather than site-seeing, walking, shopping and some photography. Want daytime shooting and night-time review and critique or something like that. Travel by ship, train or plane fine with me.

Literally the first thing found in a quick google for "nat geo photography workshop": http://www.nationalgeographicexpeditions.com/triptypes/photoworkshops (external link)

Might want to do some research on that though, see what reviews are like, and see if it's something that might interest you. I'm sure more google-fu would yield even more results, or more specific ones if you had a photographer/subject in mind already.

Thank you. The problem is that most of the workshops I've found on the web are really tours, not critique-based workshops. Still searching.
