Nokomis Beach Drum Circle and Sunset

While visiting in the Sarasota area over Independence Day holiday weekend, we drove down to Nokomis beach to watch the fireworks later that night. We were pleasantly surprised to be treated to a large drum circle and 4th celebration along with a beautiful sunset. These were all shot with my wife’s Canon SL1 with kit lens. If you're looking for CC, these look like snapshots. Try using DOF to focus the eye where you want the viewer to look. Lots of great subjects but the background is too busy. The last is by far my favorite as where the eye should focus is very apparent.

I prefer snapshots myself. They are much more communicative as far as I'm concerned than staged " professional "shoots". I gather this was sort of a seniors event.

This actually was meant to be just snap shots. My wife and I were visiting our daughter in Sarasota and drove down to this beach to watch the fireworks. We happened to have my wife’s camera with us. So I just took a bunch of snapshots. It wasn’t a senior event, but most of the drummers were!
