I have a Canon 70D and G12. My current version of DPP is 4.2.10.0. This version works perfectly fine with images take from my 70D. However, I am having trouble with images taken with my G12.

When I take RAWs (I only take RAWs) with my G12, they are .CR2 and when I open them up in DPP 4, they are NOT editable and are only view-able at small thumb nail sized images. If I attempt a convert and save, I get an error indicating that "Could not save. Unsupported image."

I didn't always have this problem that I know of, so I am unsure of what my options are to get these in editable format and so I can convert them to .JPG

Do I need to use an older version of DPP? Can I have 2 versions installed without any issues?

Go to the Canon website for the 70D software and you will find that DPP 4.X is only compatible with the EOS cameras, not the Powershot series. You will also find a comment that both compatible versions can be resident on the same PC.

You might as well download the most recent of each and install. The DPP 4.x was updated as of June 1st.

I ended up installing Canon DPP version that came with my G-12. I now have 2 versions of DPP installed on my PC and I use them individually as needed.
