Great shot, what was the exposure/gear used? I'm tempted to mod one of my lower end bodies for the red ... hmm

.

Thanks guys.

Allan - This was imaged with a TMB92SS refractor (506mm focal length) and QSI583ws8 cooled CCD camera with luminance, red, green, blue, and hydrogen-alpha filters. I had a 40D modded before this current CCD camera, and you'll definitely get that red Ha emission nebulosity. Go for it :)
Exposures for this image were about 10x 6min subs for luminance and RGB, and 10x 10min subs for the Ha. All up it was maybe 5 hours of data.

This image is a prime example of images I've talked about in the past that cannot be had of the same quality with even a modded camera . You can get some good ones yes with a modded camera but the red is more dominant than the equally other GB colors and luminosity stage to boost it . Dedicated CCDs' are strictly DSO imaging cameras and cannot be used for anything else such as a daytime camera . Dedicated CCD cameras produce top quality images !
