Aug 26, 2015 14:39 | #317 xpfloyd wrote in post #17683835 Im currently not 100% convinced there is an issue at the moment (there are definitely hot pixels from long exposures but how bad they are seems to differ depending on where you read). On FM forums a bit back there was a RAW file provided which was really bad for noise and hot pixels. After that members in the sony a7x lounge thread provided me with RAWS with similar settings and the issue was far, far less. I cant really explain that. However, my A7RII is in transit just now and I should have it by Friday I think and this is something I will be testing. I plan on testing some over 30 second shots using the Lee big stopper with LENR switched on and also switched off. I also plan on doing some night photography to test the issue at shutter speeds of a few minutes/low iso and sub 30 seconds at high iso. I will report back what I find. This could be a deal breaker for me so im hoping that something weird had happened on the RAW supplied on FM forums Please do! Definitely looking forward to it. Canon_Shoe Goldmember More info | That's the highest rated camera sensor ever on DXO! I never take them very seriously though........you can really only have 14 stops of true digital DR anyways since the files are 14 bit, so I don't know how some can score higher with whatever system they use Facebook-- http://www.facebook.com/AndrewShoemakerPhotography

Canon_Shoe Goldmember More info | That's what I was told by a 3D designer. You can only really work with 14 stops. Eventually I suppose we'll need to step up to 16 bit files Facebook-- http://www.facebook.com/AndrewShoemakerPhotography

Puckman Cream of the Crop More info | Aug 27, 2015 17:30 | #323 I don't know who came up with this notion that DR stops = (or relative to) number of bits. That makes no sense to me, mathematically, or technologically. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Canon_Shoe Goldmember More info | Aug 28, 2015 00:51 | #327 So guys, there's all of this talk of how Canon lenses perform on on the A7RII, and this comes from pure ignorance on my part, but how does the Sony 16-35, 24-70, and 70-200 perform in general? Are they that bad that people would rather buy Canon lenses and use adapters? I totally understand if you're already geared up with Canon, but how do those lenses perform? I just sold my Canon 16-35 f/4 and bought the Sony. Haven't used the other lenses you listed and don't intend to but the primes are superb Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Well, the 24-70 and 70-200 are both f/4. That's one big difference. Steve -- Website
