Sony A7R II impression and images

took the A7Rii to the hockey game last night with the Canon 70-200 F2.8 II and Metabones iv T. First of all, I was getting the AF shutting off and default to manual mode - and I think I'm pretty sure it was because the cold of the area was causing expansion contraction issues and the Adapter connection developing some play between itself and the lens - I could feel it just wasn't tight - had to shut off camera / remove battery and turn back on - but after a while it would happen again - never had this happen before.

All the shots are shooting through white webbing which I had to use the smallest single point to get the AF not the pick up the netting.

I really like the colours that this camera produces at high ISO - not spoken about enough but Sony has really done a great job with colours and this sensor.

One from Notre Dame in Rouen which is actually a little longer than The Notre Dame. The 11-24L on the A7R II worked flawlessly. AF was flawless even in the low light. I think I still prefer the color from the 5DS R in good daylight conditions or when using a tripod. Looks like I'll end up carrying both bodies on trips. That said, the A7R II has certainly earned its place in the bag. Guess one of my boys will be inheriting a 5D III.

Wow that's pretty impressive! Any pics of sunrise/sunset and could you now do without filters?

I had a whole stack of different filters in the old film days. The only filter I use now is an ND filter for wide aperture shots in daylight or to extend SS in available light.

Amen to that! Here's wishing for more rain/snow in CA.

With a7RII. Still have the original a7R but will likely sell it.

When one turns off the electronic front curtain shutter, I presumed that it would shift to a mechanical front and rear curtain. But when I turn it off, it actually gets smoother and my flash sync speed is worse. It almost sounds like a fully electronic shutter. What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to get the maximum sync speed and I'm still noticing a slight black bar on my images when using a cable to my strobe.

I guess I'm wondering how I get a fully mechanical shutter.
