I don't have either, but the reviews are really positive for the:

Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.4 G
Sigma AF 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM "Art"

Just because of the huge price difference I'd take a serious look at the Sigma.

If you're looking for something less expensive then there's the Nikon AF-S Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8G ( http://www.dpreview.com …ews/nikon-af-s-35mm-f1-8g (external link) ). I wouldn't get the Nikkor AF 35mm f/2 D.

If you don't need AF then Zeiss also has two 35mm lenses for Nikon mount.

I love my 35Art on my Nikons (used on D7000, D700 and D4 so far)

Some food for thought: Roger and Aaron from Lensrentals have added their latest blog in copy-copy variation, this time for 35mm primes

I'm extremely happy with my Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8G ED FX. I could not justify the extra expense for the f/1.4.

Either the Sigma 35mm 1.4 / Nikon 35mm 1.8 G FX. The 35mm 1.8 FX is a nice lens on a full frame, I think for optical performance id have the sigma... reliable performance the nikon...

The 35mm 1.4G I think is a lovely lens but over priced when its performance is compared to the sigma / nikon 1.8 - not worth it in my opinion.

Food for thought the much cheaper 35mm 1.8 DX will also work on a full frame... you will get fairly heavy vignetting though wide open - but a bit of a crop and PP its easy fixed, excellent cheap lens.

1 x Nikon D810 - 2 x Nikon D750 - Nikon 24-70 2.8G - Sigma 35mm 1.4Art - Sigma 50mm 1.4Art- Nikon 85mm 1.4G - Lots of lights and other stuffs.

yeah I tried my old DX on my D4 a few months ago when I was having AF issues and was very surprised at how little vignetting there was. there wasn't the hard vignette I've seen with other DX/DC/Dii lenses. I reckon that lens would easily cover the 1.25 APSH sensors

I have the Sigma for my D800 and love it, but then I love the way sigma lenses tend to render. From everything I've seen and read if you compare the Nik 1.4 to the Sig 1.4 there is zero justification for the price difference.

I also have the 35 1.8 DX and have used it on my D800, it works beautifully, yes there is some additional PP required due to the minor vignetting pointed out by others but nothing extreme and its a very low cost small and light lens that is great for travel.

Another vote here for the 35mm DX lens. I use mine regularly on my Df, and love the size and image quality.

Sigma 35 1.4 or Nikon 35 1.8 FX. I have the Sigma 35 and it's very sharp on the D700.
