Great start to the week Levina and Tim.
I was sure that we would see a big chair like Tim's this week.

Thanks.
No doubt a large chair would have been photographed this week, although this is not the one I had planned to shoot. I had another large chair in mind, but this one was handy when we went to the California State Fair yesterday.

looks to be based on the same comfort-rating as airport or train station seats! :-)

You have a point there!

Those are great, Tim. :-D

Thanks.

Great images. You really nailed the second one.;-)a

It probably feels like sitting on nails. Thanks.

Two more from home. These little chairs are ancient. They're part of a bedroom set my parents bought back in the early 1960's I think. Maybe even the 1950's, not sure. When I was a poor student, mid 80's, my mum bought a new set and although this set was old by then, it came my way as it was better than a mattress on the floor. The bed frame has not been in use for at least 20 years, although I still have the boards stored somewhere, but these small chairs and the dressing table are still in use. They're old, paint is flaking everywhere, it shows a lot of wear, but I can't bring myself to throw them out. So here are some shots of the chairs alone. First in monochrome so they look kinda pretty:

Here they are in colour...

And here's a snap shot of the chair and the dressing table together (I removed all the stuff that is usually on it :-P )
I have a large and really nice looking bedroom and these don't go with the rest, but I can't replace them. It's embarrassing really...

These are all inspired photos, either unusual chairs or well-designed images of normal chairs.

From today: chairs around a table in a small commercial area that includes a tiny take-out restaurant with outdoor seating.

Levina.. I love your Red Set!
Very modern looking, especially at the time, for me anyhow.
American furniture at that time, was not so sleek!
And I love the red. The legs on the stand are really modern looking!

Nice perspective there OhLook. I hope you were having a nice outdoor meal..

Stezeam - That is Really SurReal! :p

Barbara, I love that interpretation! And Nice shot.
You might want to share in the Fungus Thread!

Barbara, I love your interpretation! Very cool.

Joayne, I love those old thingies. There was also a very small table with a triangular shaped table top (maybe 30x30x30 cm = 12x12x12 inch), but that was lost somewhere down the line (not by me though!). I sometimes think about maybe repainting the chairs and dressing table, but I just know I wouldn't get the exact same colours again and I'm afraid it would ruin it.

I love your shot, John. Absolutely fantastic. I can't even imagine what it would be like to actually live in such a place...
