This is great news from a company that's reputation has been growing in recent years especially with regards to their digital lenses. Apparently they're putting stock into APS-C bodies (here for a long while folks) and their "DX" line, which their 12-24 is one example of (and a very good lens at that). I hear these new lenses should hit the shelves late March/early April. The 16-50f2.8 looks real interesting as it'll have their superb build and I'm assuming stellar optics. Anyway, this is good news.

I can see a great 3 way test in your future Mr JoJo ;-)a The 50-135mm also looks an interesting option.

I was hoping with the intro of all the 17/18 to 50ish that someone would come out with a 50 ish on up with nice optics and speed. Here it is. 16-50, 50-135, 120-300 all at 2.8 (Sigma on the last one). Hope others take note and add these others to the lineup.

Jojo, now I am not to sure about that 17-70 Sigma, Aaaaahhhhh!!!!

I've been a 'Skins fan since 1982 (yes, even more a fan than my beloved Lakers). We haven't won the SB since 1991; it's been a long time! When will the glory return?!

I'll get my game face back on (i.e., avatar) when the season comes back around in the Fall. And my mantra will once again be, just as every year, "This is the year!!!" :D

Some interesting options.. :)
I had noticed the 80-400mm earlier.. I did not realize it was a new model.

I'd love to see Tokina develop a USM equivelent...

The 10-17 fish is very interesting as no one I know makes such a zoom.
Pentax will be rebadging this a a few more (I think) under the Pentax and the Samsung??? name as well.

I'm really looking hard at the macro and might get that. I really liked the 12-24 till I looked at the view with a 10mm. The 12-24 also has a bit more CA than the other ultra wides, so if I had to do it again, I'd go with a Sig 10-20.

If the 16-50 performs well, then it will be a better option than the other 17/18-50 ishe f2.8's from Canon, Tamron, Sigma as I'd prefer the widest end possible.

I'm not sure about the 50-135 range as I much more prefer a 70-200 instead. The rest are consumer grade lenses, so my interest wanes a bit on these slower lenses.

That 50-138 f/2.8 definately has my interest perked. Is it just me, or does it look like it has a tripod collar? That has to be a new one. I don't think I've seen a zoom in this range that has a tripod collar.

yup, it looks like toke's funky collar, looks identical to the one on the 80-400.
Go figure.

Id consider the 80-400mm after using their 12-24 for the last few days I can see already they make a pretty good product that gives Sigma (and maybe even Canon in some areas) a fun for the money.
