Hi all:
I'm heading up to the Northern Catskills in NY later this month. Apparently, there are pretty dark skies around the place I'm staying and I was hoping to get a few good shots of the Milky Way (here in South Florida it is impossible). As my luck has it, there will be a full moon while I'm there. Is it possible to get decent shots of the milky way despite the light of the full moon or will I just be wasting my time?
Most internet searches have shown the latter, though I have seem some milky way pictures with a full moon present. From what I've read the milky way will be in the southern sky while the full moon will "travel" across the northern portion of the sky. Is this advantageous or just wishful thinking on my part?
Thanks for any wisdom on this.
