How many of you have had a lens wobble problem on an a6000?

How many of you have installed a tough mount by Fotodiox to solve the problem?

Has anyone had any problems with a tough mount?

Is there any advantage to using the more expensive brass mount?

Thanks for your responses.

I ordered one, which should arrive any day now (the holidays I am sure have delayed it).

I use my A6000 strictly for older lenses with adapters, so I wanted to be sure I had beefed up the mount sufficiently for any additional weight.

would love to see what your feel about it and if (in your eyes) it is worth it.

I'll do that, definately.

Looks like the USPS is holding it hostage at a local hub from Tuesday (Dec. 30) until Monday (Jan. 4) so I won't see it until then.

The Tough Mount came today. Easy to install, probably took about three minutes. Important to use the right screwdriver (a small Phillips) so as to not mess up the screws. Old mount and the underlying plastic ring come off easy. New mount goes on easy too. Its a matte finish, not shiny. But it did fit well and my lenses (adapters, actually) go on and off smoothly.

I'll need to shoot some with it to verify all is well. Infinity focus looks to be correct but I'm just trying it out here in the kitchen.

I have a couple heavy lenses (like my Nikkor 102/f2.5) without tripod mount so having an all-metal mount on the camera might save it a little wear and tear. At least that's what I'm hoping. Lenses with a tripod mount would be no problem with the factory lens mount I am sure.

Thanks for the update.
It sounds like a nice quality bit of kit, i'm not sure if it is overkill but it looks like it could be nice :-)

Upon further review....

I have removed the Tough E Mount and reinstalled the factory Sony mount on my camera. Although the Fotodiox adapters I bought fit perfectly (M42 and Nikon F) on the Tough Mount, the Amadeo Contax/Nikon rangefinder mount does not. One of the three bayonet flanges conflicts with the flange on the mount. And since those are the lenses I bought the A6000 specifically to shoot with, its a problem.

Examining the mount here on the workbench, it looks like some careful work with a file (or a Dremel tool) will clearance the flange enough to mount the adapter on it. Actually, an easier job would be to file the adapter itself. But I think for the time being I'll just use the factory mount.

i have the tough mount, had it for a long time. was switching lenses so often, my plastic a7r mount stopped working. dont bother with the non fitting adapters and stick with rainbowimaging aka fotasy adapters. The A7ii and A7rii have metal mounts and your adapters may not work on them either. I have MD mount, FD, OM, and EF dumb adapter, all from fotasy, and they all work with tough mount. Fotga's were hit and miss, no named hit and miss.

Fotasy are generic chinese adapters, not proprietary to rainbowimaging or B&H at all, even though both sell them. I have a couple for many systems and they've all worked great so I can recommend them, but they're just generic chinese pieces.

FWIW all my Fotga ones fit and work perfectly as well.

Only time I had one not work was a really weird no name die cast one, I won't even go near a cast one ever again. The ones with machined flanges are really worth twice the price.
