Spend $2,400 on 5Diii, or 6D and 135L/100L macro

I'm strongly considering a full frame camera; however, I'm not sure if I should spend the $2,400 on the 5Diii or purchase the 6D and a lens.

I currently have the 60D for those moments when family and friends would like to borrow or use the camera. In addition, I have the 7Dii for action shots. Therefore, my thoughts were the 6D would be a great addition to the 7Dii and 60D, and the $1,000 saved could be used to purchase the 135L/100L macro lens.

I've heard and read great reviews about both cameras, but I'm not sure which way to go. However, I'm struggling with making a decision.

Please help a struggling man make a decision! Which camera should I get?

If I had the 7D2 and need the FF primarily for family and relatively static shots, I would get the 6D and one of the lenses mentioned. The 6D and either the 135L or the 100L would be a match made in heaven.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

6D no questions since you already had 7D2.
100 or 135 is depending on if you do details/macro shots beside portrait.

What Dre said: "What other lenses do your currently have?"

I wouldn't get a 6D and 135L. That's what I have, and my wife tells me I do everything wrong. :)

I have the 135L & the 100L, and my wife also tells me I do everything wrong. Does that mean I need to get a 6D?

I just asked my wife about this. She said, "He doesn't need a new camera any more than you did." Yes, buy one.

I have a 6D and 135L and they are both great. My wife says I don't need the camera gear I have…let alone new gear.

you already have 50mm…I think 135 would be a great addition.

Not sure if this matters, but here goes. I started out with a 135L. I sold it to get an 85 1.8. I eventually sold the 85 1.8 to get a 100 f/2. Now I have sold the 100 f/2, and repurchased the 85 1.8 AND the 135L. Save yourself some money. Get the 85 1.8 and 135L to start with. And here comes the important part... KEEP THEM! Oh, yeah, and mount them on a 6D!

No, I think she is right that I don't need a 6D camera.

It's probably going to be a new lens that I don't need that my wife will bring up.

But thanks for for encouragement!

I hope this doesn't happen when girlfriends turn into wives - I just mentioned to mine I want the 70-300L and she said "well then get it!".

It has been my experience that women will call every purchase made by a man frivolous, while simultaneously proclaiming every purchase they make as dire necessities. I don't tell my wife when I buy camera gear. She doesn't ask. She doesn't tell me about every age-defying, breast-lifting, youth-restoring bottle of voodoo she buys. I don't ask. It works for us.
