I dug up these outtakes of two Belted Kingfishers taken in very different light. Both shot with Canon 1D Mark IV, 500L(f4) + 1.4 TC. The second shot was taken at about half the distance as the first.

Jul 20, 2015 08:26 | #4 Beautiful shots, Steve. It's so hard to get close to a kingfisher. Last weekend I followed one for 2 miles around a lake, and only got a couple shots from hundreds of feet away. Sigh!
