When I used to mountain bike, the saying was "if you're not falling off you're not getting better." If you don't push the boundaries you stagnate. For the last few years images from Sony/Nikon 36mpx cameras really seem to stand apart from Canon images, even at web size. They forced Canon to put out a 50mpx body, it can't do any harm :-)

I got my hands on a 5Ds R on the 1st of the month. I have been loving it. Yeah, major PITA with LR6 (bug) and our 75MB (avg.) files.

The best part when taking out door pics is you can crop WTF in there and still yank out a rectangle > 1280 x Y pixels w/o actually enlarging/extrapolating data.

And maybe in my mind.. bue the colors are a tad better. 72k pictures on my 5d Mk3, so I think I have some memory of what it could do and what I am seeing here.

Different customers have different needs. Not everybody needs, for their own personal or commercial purposes, the best that a particular photographer can supply. It might be that the needs of many customers can be met by an automated LR or PS action that takes very little time to apply and keeps costs down. To expect the photographer to invest the time to produce the "best" image possible may price their work out of the reach of many potential customers.
